Logitech keyboard not working or not pairing on Windows 11: how to fix it
When a Logitech keyboard stops typing on a Windows 11 computer, the keyboard is almost never broken. The usual causes are weak batteries, the keyboard set to the wrong channel, a USB receiver that is loose or in a bad port, or Bluetooth that needs a fresh pairing. Work through these in order and stop as soon as it types.

Steps
Check the power. Slide the keyboard power switch off and on, and look for a light. Put in fresh batteries, or charge it for 15 minutes if it is rechargeable. Weak batteries cause missed keys and random disconnects.
Look at how it connects. If a small USB plug came with it (a Logitech Unifying, Bolt or Nano receiver), plug that receiver straight into a USB port on the computer itself, not a hub or a monitor. If it has no plug, it uses Bluetooth.
Check the channel. Many Logitech keyboards have Easy-Switch keys marked 1, 2 and 3. Press the number that matches this computer. If the light for that number blinks fast, that channel is not paired yet.
Try a different USB port for the receiver, and move the keyboard closer. Metal desks, USB 3 ports right next to the receiver, and Wi-Fi routers can block the signal. A USB extension cable that puts the receiver near the keyboard often fixes it.
For Bluetooth, pair it fresh. Hold the Easy-Switch key until its light blinks fast. On the computer click Start, then Settings, then Bluetooth and devices. Make sure Bluetooth is On, click Add device, then Bluetooth, and choose the keyboard. If Windows shows a code, type it on the keyboard and press Enter.
If it was paired before but stopped working, remove it first. In Bluetooth and devices, click the three dots next to the keyboard, choose Remove device, then pair it again as in the step above.
For a Unifying or Bolt receiver, install Logitech Options+ or Logi Bolt only from logitech.com, open it, choose Add device, and follow the screen to connect the keyboard to the receiver again.
Restart the computer with the keyboard switched on. Windows sometimes needs a restart after an update before Bluetooth devices reconnect.
Never call a phone number from a popup or a search ad that claims to be Logitech or Microsoft support. Real support will not ask you to install remote access apps or pay with gift cards.
Common questions
My keyboard light is on but nothing types. Why?
The keyboard has power but is talking to a different channel or computer. Press the Easy-Switch number for this computer, or pair it again on that channel.
How do I type if my only keyboard is not working?
Use the mouse. Click Start, then Settings, then Accessibility, then Keyboard, and turn on the On-Screen Keyboard. You can click the keys to type a Bluetooth code or a password.
Can a Unifying keyboard work with a Bolt receiver?
No. Unifying and Bolt receivers do not mix. Check the logo on the receiver and use the one that came with your keyboard, or connect by Bluetooth if the keyboard supports it.
Did a Windows 11 update break my keyboard?
Sometimes an update resets Bluetooth. Removing the keyboard in Bluetooth and devices and pairing it again fixes it almost every time.
