How to move Norton 360 to a new computer without paying again
When you get a new computer, you do not need to buy Norton 360 again or pay a new membership fee to move it. Your subscription lives in your Norton account, and it covers a set number of devices. If all of those spots are used, you free one up by removing the old computer, then install Norton on the new one. The days left on your subscription stay the same. Work through these steps in order.
Free human help is at capacity right now. If you want help while you fix this, Ellis, our AI assistant, can help you by phone now. The first 5 minutes are free when you call (928) 272-0355. If you want more time, phone help is $19 one time for up to 30 minutes, used over 14 days. No subscription. Ellis is an AI and can make mistakes.
Refundable anytime: just ask with a reason at joe@adorellc.pro or text 928-272-0355.
Steps
Find your Norton account email. Search your email for Norton to find a receipt or renewal notice. The address that got it is almost always your account email.
On the new computer, type my.norton.com into the web browser yourself. Do not use a link from a popup, a text or a search ad, because fake Norton pages are very common.
Sign in. If you do not remember the password, click Forgot your password on the real Norton sign in page and follow the email it sends you.
At the top right of the page, point to My Account and click My Subscriptions. Find your Norton 360 plan in the list.
Under that plan, click Manage Devices. A window opens with every computer and phone using your subscription.
Find the old computer you no longer use, click the small bin (trash can) icon next to it, then click Remove. This frees its spot. It does not delete anything from the old computer, and it costs nothing.
Back on the plan, click Download or Share. On the new computer, choose Agree and Download. If you are on a different device, click Send Download Link and send it to the new computer by email.
Open the downloaded file from your Downloads folder and let it run. Click Yes if Windows asks for permission. Sign in to your Norton account when the installer asks, which activates your protection.
Restart if Norton asks. The first update and scan can take 10 to 20 minutes. When it finishes, Norton should say You are protected.
If the new computer came with a trial of McAfee or another antivirus, uninstall it first. On Windows 11 open Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps, find it and click Uninstall. Two antivirus programs at once slow a computer down.
Never call a phone number from a popup, email or text that says your Norton expired, renewed or needs a transfer fee. Real Norton will not ask you to install AnyDesk or TeamViewer, or to pay with gift cards.
Common questions
Do I have to pay to move Norton 360 to a new computer?
No. Moving your subscription is free. You only pay again when your yearly subscription renews, the same as before.
Will I lose the time left on my subscription?
No. If you had 100 days left on the old computer, you still have 100 days left after you move it to the new one.
The old computer is broken or already gone. Can I still remove it?
Yes. You remove it from your Norton account online, so you do not need the old computer at all.
I do not see Manage Devices. What now?
That link only shows when at least one device is using the plan. If nothing is listed, you can go straight to Download or Share and install on the new computer.
Can Ellis help me with this?
Yes. Ellis can talk you through each step by phone while you sit at your new computer, and will never ask for your passwords or bank details. Ellis is an AI assistant, and it will tell you so.
