Steps

  1. Check another device on the same Wi-Fi. If it also has no internet, the problem is the router or your provider.
  2. Unplug the router and the modem for 30 seconds, plug the modem in first, wait two minutes, then plug in the router.
  3. If only one device is affected, turn Wi-Fi off and on, then forget the network and join it again with the password.
  4. On Windows, open Settings, Network & internet, Advanced network settings, Network reset. This clears bad settings but you will need to rejoin Wi-Fi.
  5. Check your provider status page or app for an outage in your area.
  6. If a VPN or proxy is turned on, switch it off and test again.
