Locked out of your email or forgot a password? Go slowly and use only the official recovery pages.
Every big email provider has a free self-service recovery page. Nobody can skip those checks for you, so be careful with anyone who says they can, especially for a fee.
Want someone to talk you through it? Call Ellis, our AI phone assistant. The first 5 minutes are free, no card needed. If you want more time, it is $19 one time for up to 30 minutes of phone help, used over 14 days. No subscription.
Want Ellis to work on your computer with you, only after you say it is okay? $79 one time, up to 60 minutes. Both are refundable anytime: just ask with a reason at joe@adorellc.pro or text 928-272-0355.
A real caller rated Ellis 10 out of 10 in October 2026, after a Mac sign-in error that blocked their design software was fixed in one 25 minute call.
Get back into your account
Use a device and Wi-Fi you normally use. Recovery works better from a familiar place.
Go to the official page yourself: accounts.google.com/signin/recovery for Gmail, account.live.com/password/reset for Outlook and Hotmail, iforgot.apple.com for Apple ID, login.yahoo.com/forgot for Yahoo and AOL.
Have your recovery phone nearby. The code comes by text. Type it only on that official page.
Answer what you can. If it fails, wait a day and try again from the same device rather than many times in a row.
Once in, set a new password you have never used before and write it down somewhere safe at home.
Stop it from happening again
Add or update your recovery phone number and a backup email.
Turn on two-step sign in, so a stolen password alone is not enough.
Use the password saving built into your phone or browser instead of reusing one password everywhere.
Red flags
Nobody from Google, Microsoft or Apple will call you and ask for a code.
Never read a verification code to anyone on the phone, including a helper. Ellis will never ask for one.
Search ads that offer email recovery for a fee are often scams.
Ellis tells you it is an AI, then asks what is going on.
It gives you one step at a time and waits. You can interrupt, ask it to repeat, or ask it to slow down.
After 5 free minutes, you choose: hang up, or pay $19 one time for up to 30 minutes of phone help.
