Wi-Fi for assisted living residents

Ask any front desk team in assisted living what the most common tech question is and the answer is usually some version of "my tablet says no internet." Resident Wi-Fi is now as expected as cable TV, and when it fails, families hear about it on the next video call.

Good coverage is only half of it. The other half is helping residents get their own devices connected and keep them connected, without pulling staff away from care.

Give residents one patient number to call when the tablet will not connect. Ellis is $499 a month per community, with a 30 day pilot and month to month after that.

Ellis is an AI assistant, not a person, and says so at the start of every call. Calling the number from any phone gets the first 5 minutes free, so you can test it with a real device problem before you decide.

What usually goes wrong

A simple setup that cuts the questions

  1. Use one resident network name and keep the password the same for a long time. Changing it monthly creates a wave of calls.
  2. Print the network name and password on the welcome card and on a sticker in each apartment.
  3. If you use a sign in page, keep it to one tap, and let devices stay signed in for weeks, not hours.
  4. Walk the halls with a phone once a quarter and note any apartment where a video call drops.
  5. Give residents and families one number to call when a device will not connect.

Where Ellis fits

Ellis is a patient AI phone helper. A resident calls (928) 272-0355, says the tablet will not connect, and Ellis walks them through it one step at a time: checking airplane mode, choosing the right network, typing the password, and accepting the sign in page. It can repeat any step as many times as needed.

When the problem is the building network itself, Ellis tells the resident to let the front desk know, so your team or your internet provider can fix it. Ellis never sends anyone into your building.

Questions operators ask

Can Ellis fix our building Wi-Fi?

No. Ellis helps residents get their own devices connected. Problems with the access points, the internet line or your provider stay with your IT vendor.

Do residents need to share the Wi-Fi password with Ellis?

No. Ellis tells them where to type it and never asks them to read it out. The password should be on their welcome card.

How fast can we start?
