Smartphone and iPad help for senior living residents

Ask any front desk or activities director which tech question comes up most and the answer is almost always the phone or the iPad. The ringer is off, the text is too small, the iPad wants a passcode, an app update moved the buttons, or a grandchild sent photos and the resident cannot find them.

Each question is small. Together they add up to a steady stream of interruptions for staff, and a steady stream of worried calls to family members.

Give residents one patient number for phone and iPad questions so staff are not the default help desk. Ellis is $499 a month per community, with a 30 day pilot and month to month after that.

Ellis is an AI assistant, not a person, and says so at the start of every call. Calling the number from any phone gets the first 5 minutes free, so you can test it with a real device problem before you decide.

The phone and tablet questions residents ask most

Why it matters to operators

  1. Fewer staff interruptions: the front desk and activities team are not the default help desk for every phone question.
  2. Family reassurance: adult children know their parent has a patient number to call, day or night, instead of waiting for the next visit.
  3. Resident confidence: residents who can use their own phone and tablet stay in touch with family and join more activities on their own.
  4. A concrete amenity your sales team can show on a tour, with a help line card for every apartment.

Where Ellis fits

Ellis is a patient AI phone helper. A resident calls (928) 272-0355 from any phone, says what is wrong in plain words, and Ellis walks them through the fix one step at a time on iPhone, Android or iPad. It says up front that it is an AI, repeats steps as often as needed, and never asks for passwords, Social Security numbers or card numbers.

Ellis does not replace your staff. It takes the everyday how do I questions, and anything hands on, like a cracked screen or a lost device, goes back to your team or the family.

Questions operators ask

Does Ellis work with both iPhone and Android?

Yes. Ellis helps with iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and most common apps residents use, including texting, photos, video calls and email.

What if a resident cannot see the screen well?

Ellis goes slowly, describes where each button is, and can start by making the text and icons larger so the rest of the call is easier.

Can Ellis unlock a phone if the resident forgot the passcode?

No. Ellis can explain the official recovery steps from Apple or Google, but it never asks for or stores passwords, and a locked device may need the family or the carrier store.
