Telehealth help for assisted living residents

Doctors, specialists and therapists now expect residents to show up to video visits on their own phone or tablet. For many residents the hard part is not the visit. It is the link in a text, the patient portal password, the camera permission and the microphone that stays muted.

When the visit fails, staff get pulled in at the last minute or the appointment gets rescheduled. A little preparation and one number to call before the visit fixes most of it.

Give residents one patient number to call before every video visit. Ellis is $499 a month per community, with a 30 day pilot and month to month after that.

Ellis is an AI assistant, not a person, and says so at the start of every call. Calling the number from any phone gets the first 5 minutes free, so you can test it with a real device problem before you decide.

Where video visits go wrong

A simple prep routine for residents

  1. The day before, find the visit link or open the portal app and make sure the sign in works.
  2. Charge the phone or tablet and sit near the Wi-Fi router or in a room with good signal.
  3. Fifteen minutes early, open the link, allow the camera and microphone, and check the picture and sound.
  4. Keep a list of questions and medications next to the device.
  5. If anything fails, call for help before the visit starts, not during it.

Where Ellis fits

Ellis is a patient AI phone helper. A resident calls (928) 272-0355 before a video visit, and Ellis walks them through finding the link, signing in to the portal on the official site, allowing the camera and microphone, and turning up the sound. It repeats steps as often as needed and never rushes.

Ellis does not join the visit, does not see medical records and never asks for passwords. It helps with the device so the resident can talk to their clinician. Your nurses and wellness staff stay the point of contact for anything clinical.
