Move in tech setup for senior living residents

Move in week is when tech problems pile up. The TV needs a sign in, the tablet does not know the Wi-Fi, the phone has a new number, and the family who set everything up has already driven home.

A short checklist and one number to call afterward turn most of those problems into a five minute fix instead of a week of front desk questions.

Give every new resident one patient number to call after the family drives home. Ellis is $499 a month per community, with a 30 day pilot and month to month after that.

Ellis is an AI assistant, not a person, and says so at the start of every call. Calling the number from any phone gets the first 5 minutes free, so you can test it with a real device problem before you decide.

Move in tech checklist

  1. Connect every device to the resident Wi-Fi, and write the network name and password on the welcome card.
  2. Make sure the resident knows the passcode for their phone and tablet, and that a family member has it written down too.
  3. Sign in to the TV streaming apps the resident uses, and note which account each one is under.
  4. Set up one video call app the family uses, and do a test call before the family leaves.
  5. Turn up text size and ring volume on the phone, and put the most used apps on the first screen.
  6. Check that the email password works, and that a recovery phone number or email is set on the account.
  7. Put the community front desk number and the tech help number in the phone contacts.

What usually goes wrong the first month

Where Ellis fits

Ellis is a patient AI phone helper. After move in, residents call (928) 272-0355 when something stops working, and Ellis walks them through it one step at a time: rejoining Wi-Fi, finding the sign in for a TV app, turning on notifications, or checking whether a message is a scam. It repeats steps as often as needed and never rushes.

Put the number in the move in packet next to the front desk and maintenance numbers. Families leave knowing there is help after they drive home, and your staff field fewer tech questions in the first weeks.

Questions operators ask

Does Ellis do the move in setup itself?

No. Ellis works over the phone. Staff or family do the initial setup with the checklist above, and Ellis helps residents with problems after that.

Can families call Ellis too?

Yes. A family member helping a resident can call, and family phones can be among your 25 registered numbers.

How do we add it to our move in packet?

Pay by card with the $499 button or email joe@adorellc.pro. We register your numbers within one business day, and you add (928) 272-0355 to the packet.
